Steps of tooth implantation
If we choose tooth implantation to replace a missing tooth, we should expect a longer treatment period as opposed to the more simple bridge replacement.
The treatment plan:
1. Panorama X-ray
To prepare the treatment plan, the doctor needs to prepare a panorama X-ray. The doctor can decide on the possibilities of the implantation based on the endproduct of the X-ray:
- How man implants are needed?
- What kind of quality and quantity of bone is available?
- Is tooth extraction going to be necessary before the implantation?
- Is there enough space under the maxillary sinus, or is it going to be necessary to lift the mucous membrane of the sinus and to replace bone?
- What type of implant should he choose?
- Does the general health condition of the patient allow for the implant surgery?
- Examination of anatomical surroundings (route of nerves, examination of the maxillary sinus)
2. 3D CATscan — with I CAT VISION program
For the 3 dimensional CATscanning, the decision on the final surgery proceedings is necessary.
First step — surgery:

During the surgery, the chosen implant screws are installed and fixed into the bone, under the gum by the implantologist. The operation is completely painless, thanks to the most modern anaesthetic materials and techniques. In the event of installing several implants, intravenous anaesthesia is an option.
Fixing screw is placed into the stabilized implants, then the gum above them is unified again with stitches.
The removal of the stitches is due after 10 to 14 days after the surgery. In certain cases, if, for example, the patient travels abroad, the scar can be unified with absorbing stitches as well, so that travelling home is possible even on the day after the surgery.
Healing period — temporary tooth implantation:
After the operation, a 3 to 6 months long healing period ensues. In the resting period, the implant bonifies. The patient receives temporary implant for this period.
Intermediate step — healing screw:
The doctor frees the gum above the bonified implants, then places a so-called healing screw on it. The gum-forming screw ensures beautiful gum contour. The gum-forming screw is recommended to be used for 2-3 weeks.
Final step — installment of implant superstrucure and final crown:
The implant superstructures provide the connection between the implant and the crown to be placed on it. We use titanium superstructures in the first place, but for the upper front teeth, zirconium superstructure is also available.
The final crown or bridge is placed on top pf the superstructure.
