Fixing removable dentures with implantation

In case of complete lack of teeth, it often happens that traditional removable dentures cannot be sufficiently stabilized through even the most perfect dental and technical work. This is mostly because of the anatomical conditions of a toothless jaw. In most cases, the movement of the lower jaw causes problems to the patients.

The stability of complete dentures can be enhanced by the installation of implants. Naturally, a perfectly new set of dentures is made in this case, the old, traditional set cannot be transformed.

A minimum of two implants are installed into the bone, or, if the patient chews more powerfully, four implants. The implants are installed in the place of the original eye-teeth, or the second premolar teeth.

After the end of the healing period, which may take more than even 4 to 6 months with seniors, special superstructures are built into the implants. These superstructures work similarly to one part of a nap-fastener dress. The dental surgeon installs the pair of these snap fasteners into the lower part of the dentures, that connects with the mucous membrane. This way, the dentures are "snapped" onto the implants, and is fixed there solidly, which means that it does not move when eating or speaking, like the traditional one.

In the event of narrow bone, it can happen that bone replacement is needed before installing the implants. The alternatives of this greatly depend on the patient's bon structure and anatomy, therefore the doctor determines it in every case though a preliminary examination.
