Professional tooth cleaning—the Air Brush technique

Professional tooth cleaning

In a modern dental clinic, a high quality ultrasound scaler is indispensable. This can gently eliminate the calculus accumulated onto the neck of the teeth and under the gum. With this ultrasound tool, calculus is removed from the surface of the teeth with tiny explosions. The use of the ultrasound scaler (calculus removal tool) is recommended in every half a year, and a lot of gum-related illnesses as well as the later irreversible gum decay can be prevented by it.

At Budapestdental clinic, we keep a special ultrasound scaler in every treatment unit with an intensity control and differently shaped heads. The different size and shape of the heads allow a thorough cleaning to happen even in places that are inaccessible with traditional techniques.

In the narrow space between the teeth, a dark brown discolouring may develop due to coffee, tea and cigarette consumption, that needs another technique to be eliminated. This is traditionally done with a polishing brush, but it does not provide the right results in the case of too narrow space between the teeth or accumulated teeth. Aside from this, the polishing brush cannot access the so-called "sulcus", the gum collar surrounding the neck of the teeth, although tiny, sand-like sediment may have accumulated there.

To remove the deposits ad discolourings mentioned above, the Air Brush technique has been developed. The process brings to the surface a blend of air, water and extra fine salt under high pressure. The high-pressure salt blend reaches even the most narrow spaces, or when necessary, under the gum, too. It gently erases the deposits that have. accumulated there. The treatment is completely painless and is rather pleasant. The polishing mix tastes like lemon, and after the treatment, a rare feeling of cleanness is experienced by the patient.
