Painless root treatment
Hearing the word root treatment, many patients are terrified. Profound beliefs and fright exist in connection with this treatment that are difficult to change. We at Budapest Dental still make an effort to do so.
How can we achieve that the treatment does not cause any pain?
- In a severe case, if the patient arrives with serious pain, is can be decreased considerably even before the treatment, with adequate medicines. Therefore, the treatment can be conducted completely devoid of pain.
- We use an anaesthetic called Ultracain – DS – Forte at root treatments, which provides four times the anaesthesis than the effect f traditional lidocain.
- After the opening of the root canal, we scan the inner part of the tooth with a laser beam, which eliminates all pathogens, and decreases the possible pain later.
- The tooth is closed with an antibacterial medicine several times, if necessary -, to allow the healing to happen. It is only after this that the root filing is put into the tooth
Laser root canal disinfection
One of the most important steps of root treatment is root canal disinfection. The sterility of the root canal can be increased with the help of laser, the treatment remain successful longer this way, and subsequent inflammation or pain do not develop.
When is root treatment necessary?
Root treatment s necessary in all cases when the tooth has decayed by itself, or if there is severe inflammation inside it (with great pain). At an X-ray, we see a cistal alteration inside the bone at this stage.
Steps of root treatment
At Budapest Dental clinic, the goal is the long-term protection of teeth, so our protocol for root treatment is strictly determined. The sterilization of root canals with laser ensures uniquely good result.
Abutment
After the root treatment, the tooth needs to be recreated, so that its appearance is like the original status. If there are only a few teeth left, the root has to be strengthened with an abutment.
