Inlay, onlay, aesthetic filling
![]()
Aesthetic dentistry uses less and less metal. The material of the fillings is porcelain or plastic strengthened with glass, which harmonize with the colour of the tooth and make a filling that is long-lasting. The filing for smaller caves is made by the dentist in the office – this is direct filling. In case of bigger cavities, the dentist and the technician work together to prepare indirect filling or inlay (onlay).
Porcelain inlay
It is recommended to recreate damaged or highly decayed molar tooth. The dentist clears the tooth, saves the intact parts, and the technician prepares the missing part – this is the inlay. After the installation, it is like getting your own tooth back. It is a perfect solution instead of a crown. It protects the remaining tooth tissue, and restores the missing part – there is no unnecessary tooth loss. In some cases, the inlay is made with traditional golden molding, this is called molded golden inlay.
Amalgam filling replacement

Greyish black amalgam (which is not amalgam in truth) is a thing of the past. It is perfectly replacable with aesthetic materials, to make a long lasting, beautiful filling or superstructure. Amalgam fillings are recommended to be examined after 6-8 years, and to replace them if needed. One often finds secondary decay under amalgam fillings that look fine from the outside.
Aesthetic white filling
White filling is made entirely of completely tooth-coloured filling material that fixes to light. Fillings that fix to light undergo continuous technical innovation. In our clinic, the latest, 7th generation technique is used by experts competent in aesthetic dentistry. Direct fillings can be use for smaller and medium-sized decays, both in front and molar teeth. White filling is a perfect replacement for amalgam.
Treatment of broken, unattractive incisors – direct Gradia GC composite veneer
If a front tooth is broken because of an accident or decay, you do not have o think the worst. The dentist is able to rebuild your incisor using an excellent, aesthetically perfect, tooth-coloured material. This method is called direct composite veneer. It is utilized in cases when a simple filling is not enough, but we do not wan to build a crown either.
Sealing of pit and fissure
It is recommended for incisors of adults as well as children. Deep pits and fissures can be filled, therefore the decay of children's molars can be avoided. We always do better with prevention than with solving a developed problem. Take care of your children!
